Large Pebble Repair
This pool had a pretty large area of delaminated pebble on the swim out step. The first picture is what I saw on my inspection of the pool. Although this looks like a crack it is actually a “delam” that has broken free from the shotcrete beneath. Before I drained the pool I was able to determine the size of this by tapping the blunt end of a small chisel around the area and listening for areas that sounded hollow. In the second picture, after the pool was drained, I removed all of the loose and lifted pieces of pebble and prepped the area for patching. The third picture is the finished patch. I was able to match the original color, Irish Mist, pretty closely. The pool owner was very happy he didn’t have to re-pebble the pool.
