Previous Repair Attempt   After Repair

Here is a pool that had been repaired by another company a couple of months ago, it wasn’t repaired correctly and now the rust stain is back. There was no attempt to removed the rebar and they only managed to dig into the finish material a half an inch or so and patched it. The pool owners could not get the original company to come back to correct their work so he called me.

Once I got started, I found the rebar to be in a vertical orientation and about two inches away from the previous repair. I cut out all of the rusted rebar, shotcrete and ugly previous repair work. I then patched it with my patching material. This was an Ultra-poz Sapphire finished pool and the area around the previous patch had been sanded, scrubbed and acid washed several time, this led to the over exposure of the quartz color crystal around the patch. I knew it was going to be a challenge to match the exposure of the quartz but I feel like I did a pretty good job. Once this patch has a little cure time it will blend in to the point where it will be very difficult to see. I even tweaked the quartz exposure on my patch to match both the area and the rest of the pool.
